Thirteen Reasons Why

Standard

Hannah is dead. Suicide. But when Clay finds a shoebox without a name on it, addressed to himself, the reasons of Hannah’s suicide are revealed. They are not pretty, Clay being one of them.

tumblr_m0bhp9jTO21roj5fuo1_500 My Opinion:
I really like this book, because it’s written from two perspectives, one being the victims and the other being a slightly innocent bystander. You can relate to Hannah and why she killed herself, but there is also this fascination about solving the mystery of why Clay is even on the tapes. You desperately want to keep reading and there are as good as no boring parts, the details though might get into the way at one part, depending on the reader. The story and the plotline are moving at an interesting pace that is not too fast or too slow. And if you don’t understand what Hannah means, she will explain the details later, as she also sais. It’s interesting to see how messed up someone’s life can be even at such a young age and you start to see that maybe your life isn’t that bad after all. What I didn’t like is that it involves topics like rape and blackmail and other things that don’t belong into a teenager’s life. But I would also be naive to think that they could and should be kept out a book about suicide. If this would happen then there would be no book and no plotline to read, and we would have this conversation. I fully understand that life isn’t perfect but I think every person deserves a happily ever after.

OVERALL RATING:
I give this book a 8.5/10* because it’s a great plotline and exciting. It’s just not the stuff I usually interested in.

Das Tal : Die Prophezeihung (Book 3)

Suddenly Benni disappears and when he turns up three days later totally wasted, he is rushed to the near-by Hospital. The doctors say he’ll die, if they can’t figure out what he took. His friends start searching in his room, only to find that all the clues have been erased and that they’ll have to start from scratch; starting with Benni’s boyfriend Tom.

My Opin51qUiZ4DokLion: This book is full of action and mystery. this is a book you can’t stop reading, at the same is said about the entire series. I adore detective series, so this one was a perfect match, since it even included fantasy at times. The non-stopping scenes of action and mystery make sure you can’t stop reading it, once you start it. It’s a great book, but if you get scared easily you shouldn’t start reading in the middle in the night, like I did.

Overall Rating: I give this a 9 1/2 | 10
There were still some scenes that I would have written differently. But that happens to everyone.

Das Tal : Die Katastrophe (Book 2)

Das Tal : Die Katastrophe (Book 2)

All Katie can think about is to climb to the top of the Ghost, the highest mountain in the valley where the Grace College is located. On their way up to the top, the gang quickly relieves who is a friend and who the real enemy is. But then suddenly Anna, their leader disappears and they are left alone, to find their way back home to the ground.

My Opinion: This is one of the best books in this series so far. I loved the fact that they were not in the Dead Valley anymore, but up on the mountain fighting for their surviving. I really likeDas-Tal---Die-Katastrophe-9783401064734_xxl that it’s mostly written from Katie’s point of view.

The first book was not what I had expected, when my close friends Lara recommended me this series. It took me by surprise, since the cover of the book looks rather boring. I wasn’t really planning on reading it, but then I picked it up in the middle of the night and started to read, I was hooked.

OVERALL RATING:
I give this book a 9’* / 10’* for action ad building up anticipation. The writing wasn’t the best, but I’m more of a person who focuses on the plotline of a book. The mystery in this book is pretty intense and it will keep you up at night and make you start talking to yourself. (That’s what happened, when I started to read this series.)
