The Hobbit

Standard

The_Hobbit_-_The_Battle_of_the_Five_ArmiesBilbo Baggins is a hobbit, a very respectful hobbit. Mr.Baggins lives in hole, in the ground. Not an ugly hole, but a hobbit hole. When Gandalf the great all-knowing Wizard joins Bilbo for tea, he doesn’t yet know what’s in store for him and on what adventures he will go.

My Opinion:
My first attempt to read this book was a complete failure. I had wrong information about the book and what it was about. So naturally I only read the first 2-6 pages and then put the book on hold, till there was a time when I had nothing better to read. Now that time has come. NOt only that but it also was very convenient that we had to read this book in school, so I had no other choice. To be completely honest, which I always try to be, I did have to pry page from page, because I couldn’t or didn’t really want to read this book. BUt as soon as I passed the introduction part and made it to the first “Troll” part, the reading came easier, which did surprise me. This book has been the cure to my book-hangover and I can honestly say that this book is worth reading, even if the movie is complete crap.

OVERALL RATTING:
I give this book a 9/10* because even though it had its horrible chapters, the book and the story itself were pretty good. It also humored me that it was still written in the musical language that is not used now a days anymore.

A/N

9565548Ismae’s Dad tried to kill her in her Mother’s womb. The Poison didn’t work on her. But her Mother almost died. When her Father sells her away to her new husband and he then finds out that she is a daughter of death, he’s furious.  But with the help of unknown helpers, she mannages to escape and get to the place she belongs. In the Convent. A place where daughers of death are trained to kill, in Deaths name. After her first assignments, Ismae starts to see how horrible the outside world really is. Then when she is supposed to be stationed outside of the convent for a longer period of time, undercover as the  Mistress from the Brother of the Governess, things start to change, not only does Ismae’s way of seeing love, but also of the way she sees the world and her place in it.

My Opinion:
What I liked about this book, was that for once it had something to do with the god of death in person, not only as a person spooking around on the sidelines. That it also was connected to History of France helped abit. What I liked too was, that you knew alot about the main character already, by the time you had read the first 2-5 chapters.
This book is great if you like books that play in the past and have alot to do with murders and revelutions.

Author’s Note:
I’m finally done with all my finals. I’ll know have more time to post pictures and reviews. Night School no.5 still hasn’t been sent to my house, so I’m still waiting on that. Right know I’m reading a book called Life as We knew It. I have already thought about checking out Maze Runner, but the Library doesn’t seem to have it…
Well I’ll probaly have to borrow it from a friend or so. Anyway, till next time.
Hope you enjoy the new book review and thought about reading it,

Freaks

Standard

Freaks-US-FCWhen Sheba joins Sister Moon, Monkey Boy, Horse and the rest of the Cirkus crew, she has no idea what she is getting herself into and when the Circus heads home to London; Sheba soon learns, that London isn’t as great as it seemed at first sight.
Sheba meets new friends and with new friends come new enemies, and these aren’t like any ordinary enemies.
When one of Sheba’s new friends gets captured and someone even gets killed, it seems like the gang also know as the Freaks seems to have too solve a Mystery, before it gets even more out of hand.

My Opinion: This book is for a bit younger audience,  but it’s still great for cold finger tips running down your spine, when you cant stop reading this book in the middle of the night.  Even though its not that scary, it has a place right next to my Nacy Drew, Goosebumps and other Detective / Mystery Books on the Bookshelf, I happen to share with my crazy little sister.
